I'm watching the news this morning. The big story is about Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who shot up Fort Hood in Texas.
This man shot 34 people, with 13 fatalities, earlier this month and his story will be in the headlines until long after he is dead. I can't imagine the public will allow for anything less than a death sentence.
There must be a special place in hell for someone who commits such a crime.
I think there is. He's in it now. Whether he loses his mind or stays lucid through what's left of his life, he will never know peace. He does not need to wait for death to open the blackened gates of a netherworld.
His goose is cooked up brown.
Not much comfort to the those who lost loved ones in this horrifying act of terrorism, little comfort to those who survive it, but there it is.
We send our prayers to the victims, survivors and families... that is the obvious thing to do.
For the man who did this, I feel sorrow for a wasted life. He's in a blind alley, and he will never find his way out of it. Once a counselor and healer, now a villian and killer.
I wish I knew what prayer to offer for him.
